Agartala: Putting all speculations to rest, a delegation of four ruling BJP MLAs on Tuesday met with the BJP national president JP Nadda at his office to discuss the state's political and organizational situation.

A number media reports have claimed that the ruling MLAs, including the former health minister Sudip Roy Barman are in Delhi to meet the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to complain against the poor performance of the leadership and demanding the removal of chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

The MLAs including Ram Prasad Paul, Asish Kumar Saha, Sushanta Chowdhury and Parimal Debbarma joined the meeting which lasted for more than an hour. However, former health minister Sudip Roy Barman was not present during the meeting.

Speaking with reporters, Ram Prasad Paul said that four MLAs delegation met with the national president JP Nadda after they received a call from Nadda’s office on Tuesday evening.

Paul who led the delegation in the meeting handed over the details of the organizational and states political matter and apprised him about the situation seeking the intervention immediately.

“We have not come here to complain against anyone, but being the members or leaders of the BJP party we all have the right and responsibility to inform the leadership about the happenings in the state. BJP has and will continue to have 36 MLAs in the coming days. There is no question of change in numbers”, Paul said.

He also said that they are in Delhi to meet the national president to discuss about people who are doing damage to the party be it at any level.

“We are here not for us but for the party. We are here 10-11 MLAs here but due to coronavirus we have been asked to visit at maximum of four persons due to the prevailing situation”, Paul said.

Speaking further he said that the motive behind the visit to Delhi and outcome behind the meeting will be cleared soon after the end of Durga puja. He also said that their aim is to ensure that CPIM never returns back to power.

Meanwhile, nine leaders and former Pradesh BJP presidents, including Panisagar MLA Binoy Bhushan Das and former Pradesh BJP chief Ranajoy Deb have reached Delhi to meet with the national president and organizational secretaries to hold discussion on organizational matters.
