Migrant woman delivers baby on a train to Bihar
Agartala: A migrant woman on board to Shramik special train for Khagaria district in Bihar gave birth to a girl child, informed Tripura law minister Ratan Lal Nath.
Speaking with reporters, Nath said that train which started from Jirania railway station with 1,962 passengers but the number increased to 1,963 with the birth of the child.
The NF railway tweeted to inform this development, “A lady who was travelling in the 05623 Shramik Special Train from Jirania to Khagaria delivered a baby girl at Katihar today with the help of doctors. Both mother and child are healthy & fit to travel further. Railways wishes the newborn a happy and blissful life.”
The NF Railways chief public relations officer Subhanan Chanda said that the medical team found both the mother and child fit to travel after which they left for their destination.
The Shramik Special train carrying 1,962 passengers started from Jirania railway station. This is part of the effort by the government to send back 33 thousand stranded migrant workers in Tripura. The trains are being arranged at the expenses of the state government.
So far, two trains for Bihar have left from Tripura, while a train for Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh railway station would leave on May 20.
