Half of COVID-19 patients discharged, 80 cases active: Tripura CM

Present there are 3,355 persons are under surveillance which includes 234 facility quarantine centers and 2,131 persons under home quarantine in Tripura

Agartala: Tripura has discharged 85 COVID-19 patients in one week after 10 days of treatment. The total number of active cases in Tripura now stands at 80.

Taking to twitter, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb informed, “#TripuraCOVID19update. Total Discharged: 85. Gomati District-1 person. North District- 1 person. Dhalai District - 83 persons (BSF Jawans and their family members) Total Active Cases: 80 Migrated: 2”, Deb wrote.

A total of 85 number of patients including 83 persons from BSF and their family members, one each from Gomati and North district were discharged from the isolation centre in Gobind Ballabh Pant hospital and COVID-19 care centre at Saheed Bhagat Singh.

The chief minister also informed that the health department is conducting a maximum number of tests on a daily basis and the state would soon overcome the situation.

“#TripuraCOVID19update Happy to share that as many as 540 samples have been tested for COVID19 in Tripura today. All reports are #NEGATIVE. Keeping everyone's safety in mind, we are conducting a maximum number of tests on a daily basis. We shall overcome soon. Stay safe!”, Deb wrote.

Meanwhile, at present there are 3,355 persons are under surveillance which includes 234 facility quarantine centres and 2,131 persons under home quarantine.

The three-member delegation from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) have started their investigation. They are currently visiting the BSF unit from where COVID-19 spread among the families and jawans of 86th and 136th bn of BSF in Ambassa under Dhalai district.

Out of the 85 persons discharged four patients have completely recovered, while the rest of them were discharged from the isolation centre and now are kept in facility quarantine as they did not have any symptoms of COVID-19.
