2 persons from Ambassa BSF unit found positive for COVID-19; with this, total cases stand at 4 in Tripura, announces CM Biplab Kumar Deb
Agartala: Weeks after both the COVID-19 positive patients of Tripura got discharged after they recovered from the deadly coronavirus, two more from Ambassa unit of the Border Security Force (BSF) under Dhalai district of the state were found to be positive, informed the chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
Taking to Twitter, Deb announced: “Alert! In Tripura two persons from Ambassa #BSF unit found #COVID19 positive.
Total #COVID19 positive cases in Tripura stands at 4. (Two already discharged, so active hospital cases: 2
Update at 02:30 pm / 2nd May.”
With this, the total number of positive cases has gone up to four, of which 2 have been discharged after they recovered. Now, two active cases remain in hospitals.
The state’s first positive case was reported on April 6 after a 45-year-old woman from Gomati district tested positive with travel history to Assam’s Guwahati. Meanwhile, the second case was reported on April 10, after a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. Both the positive patients have travel history by the same train on April 19.
Earlier, on April 23, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb announced Tripura a coronavirus-free state shortly after the two patients tested negative and were discharged.
Meanwhile, two out of the eight districts in Tripura have been classified into green zone by the Union ministry of home affairs, while Gomati and North Tripura districts, which reported one case each, were put under orange zone. However, Dhalai district which has now reported two positive cases, was also under green zone.
