Agartala: Sanjay and Puja Bauri were blessed with a baby boy in Agartala the capital of Tripura far away from their home in Dausa, Rajasthan. A joyous new beginning for the couple in challenging times. The new father inspired by COVID-19 baby names has named his son ‘Lockdown’.

Speaking to EastMojo.com Sanjay says, “We decided to call him Lockdown, to remind us in future of the crisis we as a family faced. His birth was not easy as we have been stranded here following the national lockdown.”

Sanjay, a street vendor, from Dausa district in Rajasthan had come to Agartala to earn a living. They arrived in January this year and had planned to return but could not risk train or road travel as his wife was due to give birth any day.

They are staying at the shelter set up by Government Railway Police (GRP) at the Badharghat Higher Secondary School. The GRP personnel drove the couple to the hospital when Puja started getting labor pains. They also provided medicines and all essential items for them at the relief camp.

Puja is anxious and wants to return home to Dausa soon, “
“We are grateful to the officers who came forward to help us at this situation by providing us with food, shelter and medical treatment. We are waiting to return back to our village soon as the lockdown is lifted.” She is also excited to introduce ‘Lockdown’ to his cousins and family back home.
