All units processing food items & essential commodities and rubber processing units in Tripura exempted from purview of national lockdown amid COVID-19 pandemic
Agartala: Amid the nation lockdown imposed as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19 aka novel coronavirus, the Tripura government has decided to allow the manufacturing units of essential commodities and production units which require a continuous process.
A letter issued by the department of industries and commerce, signed by Kiran Gitte, secretary of the government of Tripura, to all eight district magistrates on Monday informed, “... I would like to inform you that the following industries establishments are exempted from the lockdown and can manufacturing to operate”.
The letter also cited that it has been decided that all units processing food items & essential commodities and the rubber processing units, as they require continuous process, shall be allowed to function, provided they ensure social distancing and other hygienic measures while in operation.
The letter also reads that it is directed that the necessary movement of persons and vehicles required for the above industrial establishment shall be ensured by issuing requisite passes.
Earlier, following the national lockdown, the state government had announced to shut down all public and private e establishments until further notice to avoid the spread of novel coronavirus.
