Justice Satya Gopal Chattopadhyay was elevated from the post of Register General in Tripura High Court by the Union ministry of law and justice on Wednesday
Agartala: The newly appointed judge in Agartala High Court, Justice Satya Gopal Chattopadhyay took oath as the fourth judge in the High Court on Thursday.
The Chief Justice Akil Abdulhamid Kureshi administrated the swearing-in ceremony in the Court number-1 of Tripura High Court.
During the ceremony, the other two judges, Justice Arindam Lodh and Justice Subhashish Talapatra and other dignitaries were also present.
Earlier, Chattopadhyay was elevated from the post of register general in Tripura High Court by the union ministry of law and justice on Wednesday following the recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium.
The newly appointed judge in the Agartala High Court, Justice Satya Gopal Chattopadhyay will take oath as the fourth judge in Court number 1 of the High Court after his elevation from the post of register general post in High Court.
With the appointment of Chattopadhyay, now the High Court of Tripura will have a full-strength of four benches quota.
The post was vacant after the retirement of former Justice SC Das in 2017 last.
