Govt will fulfill promises made in Vision Document, be it arrears or allowances to employees, or increase in social pension up to Rs 2,000, says CM Biplab Kumar Deb
Agartala: After receiving funds from the 15th Finance Commission, the state government will provide arrears and other allowances to state employees, said chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Longtarai Tripura State Athletics Championships 2019-2020, Deb said that the government will fulfill promises made in the Vision Document, be it arrears or other allowances to employees or increase in social pension up to Rs 2,000.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), prior to the state assembly elections in 2018, had promised to provide 7th Pay Commission, social pension of Rs 2,000, smartphone to the youths, etc.
“The previous government had delivered only words in the last 25 years, but the new government is implementing various projects for the welfare of all sections of people,” Deb said.
He also said that his government is working for all sectors, including sports. After the formation of the new government, 1,100 clubs were provided sports kits of Rs 8,500 each so that the young generation remains involved in sports and build “Neshamukt Tripura”.
He also highlighted the achievements of Tripura players in various contests and acknowledged that Tripura team had become champion in the recently-concluded Under-17 Boys Football Tournament (National School Games).
“Athletics tracks have been constructed in Panisagar and Badharghat. Besides, Udaipur will also have an athletics track. The tennis court which has been set up in Dasharath Deb state sports complex is the most beautiful tennis court in the Northeast,” he added.
Referring to the steps taken by the new government in the last 23 months, the chief minister said the education sector is making equal progress in both urban and rural areas and the ‘Mission 30-30’ is playing an important role in this regard.
