59 Tripura projects worth Rs 30,193 crore await Centre’s approval

Some of the projects awaiting Union govt’s nod include development of roads, airports, ports, railways, energy, utilities, education & healthcare, among others

Agartala: A total of 59 projects, worth Rs 30,193 crore, are in the pipeline and the proposal from the state government had been sent to the Centre for approval, announced state chief secretary Manoj Kumar.

Speaking with reporters, Kumar said that a total of 59 projects from 28 departments have been sent for approval and some of them are on the ground, while a few are in the pipeline.

A document attached by chief secretary Kumar on his Tweeter account shows that out of the 59 projects, Centre has received information from the 17 while the rest are being prepared.

These include development of roads, airports, ports, railways, energy, utilities, education and healthcare, among others.

A senior official from the state government informed that the synopsis of projects under EPC and PPP as sent to NITI Aayog and information received includes Rs 1,000 crore for project under forest department, Rs 1,039.42 cr for four projects under secondary education department, Rs 184 crore for one project under higher education department, Rs 3,030.65 cr for six projects under health department, Rs 4,688.22 crore for 12 projects under urban development department.

It also includes eight projects under TSECL of Rs 4,767.70 cr, Rs 309.98 crore for two projects under tribal welfare department, Rs 102.45 crore for one project under fisheries department, Rs 836.45 cr for five projects under youth affairs and sports department, Rs 200 crore for one project under ICA department, Rs 356.70 for two projects under the tourism department, Rs 360.92 crore for two projects under the home (police) department, Rs 6,588.57 crore for one project under PWD (R&B) department, and Rs 6,727.59 crore for 13 projects under PWD’s NH, DWS, WR and PMGSY departments.
