Agartala: In a move to improve the quality of education, the state education department has appointed 162 new block-level officials on contractual basis for a period of one year.
Speaking with the reports, state education minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the education department has appointed 162 block-level officers of which 63 block resource persons (BRP) and 99 will work as transfer resource persons (TRP).
“The recruitment process was conducted in January this year, following all the norms and after completing all the process they have been appointed for a period of one year. They would be working in the block level,” Nath said.
He also said that the total number of posts available in the block resource person was and the transfer resource person was 448 and 294 respectively, but only 63 and 99 of them could make it through the recruitment process.
Talking further, he said that the education department has appointed 313 academic leaders of which 244 are the key resource persons from the teaching profession.
The department has also appointed 17 seniors as academic coordinators to monitor the work of the academic leaders across the state, Nath added.
