False claims are being circulated by BJP against TPCC president Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman, which is a serious attempt to malign the image of the party, says Cong
Agartala: The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) lodged an official complaint with the chief electoral officer (CEO) against BJP state president and chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb for allegedly misleading people with false statements, intending to malign the image of Congress and the TPCC president Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman.
Addressing a press conference, TPCC vice-president Pijush Biswas said that CM Deb is misleading people of the state by making false allegations against the Congress party and the PCC President Pradyot Deb Barman by instigating “communal hatred” among the people.
He said that false claims against the Congress president are being circulated among the people by the BJP president, which “is a serious attempt to malign the image of the party and also divide the communities against each other”.
Further, he alleged that the CM and other BJP candidates are threatening the people in their public address meeting by saying that they might be deprived from all the central government schemes which they are currently enjoying and also the dream of getting the seventh Central Pay Commission would also not get fulfilled if Modi government fails to come again in power.
Subsequently, the TPCC through a letter to the CEO demanded for immediate “detention in judicial custody” for allegedly promoting enmity between groups on the basis of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language and those assertions are prejudicial to national integration and punishable under Section 153-A, 153-8, and also under section 504, 505 (c) and (d)of the Indian Penal Code.
Biswas claimed that a number of coalition government leaders are in contact with the TPCC president, and soon they are going to join the party which is a result of the failure that the BJP has done in last one year in state.
The Congress party also released their manifesto later on Friday evening claiming that the party would do justice with the people of the state if voted to power.
Biswas also said, “The NDA governments both in state and Centre have cheated on the youth by releasing their vision documents, but the Congress party would remain committed to the promises we make.”
