Saffron, the costliest spice, is on its way from the ‘saffron bowl’ Pampore in Kashmir to northeast India. In an ambitious project, North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR) has successfully grown the spice at Yangyang in south Sikkim and parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Meghalaya.
