On Tuesday, Liverpool will visit Spain to play the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Villarreal. They will be looking to continue their winning spree and book a place in this year’s Champions League final. The Reds are already in a commanding position thanks to a 2-0 lead at Anfield, courtesy an own goal from Pervis Estupinan and a goal from Senegal forward Sadio Mane.

Nevertheless, the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp isn’t taking the lead for granted and insists that it is a difficult score-line to defend, given the opposition’s form. During the first leg of the semi-final, Liverpool had more than 70 per cent of the possession and did an excellent job restricting the Villarreal players from entering their penalty box.

Worryingly for Villarreal, two players—Jeremy Pino and Alberto Moreno—will be missing out due to injuries. Another cause of concern for Villarreal is the hamstring injury of their striker Gerard Moreno, which may force him to start on the bench. In contrast, Roberto Firmino is Liverpool’s only concern as his foot injury is proving to be more difficult than anticipated.

The UEFA semi-final between Villarreal and Liverpool is scheduled for Wednesday, 4 May at 12.30 A.M.

Predictions

Villarreal’s game-plan suffered a massive blow at Anfield last week with not a single shot on target and barely any possession. On the other hand, Liverpool looked comfortable and should have won the game with a couple of more goals as they dominated the match and looked in total control.

Here is what the betting odds look like for the upcoming game according to Sportsbookwire:

Villarreal Odds: +360

Liverpool Odds: -145

Draw: +360

Over/Under: 2.5 (-145/ +155)
