Upbeat after a convincing 2-1 win over Bengaluru FC in the previous game, NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) will be looking to go out and enjoy their game when they clash against a confident Jamshedpur FC side in their Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 match at the PJN Stadium in Margao, Goa on Friday.

Already out of the semi-final race, the Highlanders will look to play without fear and end this year’s campaign on a high.

Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC, who are in the second position of the points table, have been in red hot form throughout the season and a win today will seal their position in the knock outs.

The match will start at 7:30 PM IST. It will be telecast live on the Star Sports Network, Disney+ Hotstar and Jio TV.

NEUFC star player Deshorn Brown, who would be key in today’s match, had missed several matches due to injury and head coach Khalid Jamil believes that things would have been different had he been around throughout the season.

Jamil spoke ahead of the match and said, “Talking about (Deshorn) Brown, it is a pleasure to have him with us. He is one of the best players in the ISL. I have said many times, we missed him. In the last match, in the presence of Brown, we won after a long time. If you have five-six players like him, we could have been the champions. I know him very well, he trains very hard, he is always involved, he never complains. Whenever I want him, he is always there. He talks to the players and guides them. It is a pleasure to have him in India.”

Deshorn has performed brilliantly in whatever matches he has played and has scored regularly after his comeback, However, he feels it is all too late now. Deshorn Brown said, “It feels good. I push myself, but it’s too late (for NorthEast United FC’s to make it to the semi-finals), but we always fight as a team till the end. Hopefully, in the last two matches, we will play well.”

For Jamshedpur, TP Reheneshhas kept four clean sheets this season and it would definitely not be a cakewalk for the NEUFC strikers to go past him. Both teams have played nine times before and NEUFC has won only once.
