NorthEast United FC faced a demoralising defeat in their last Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 match against Hyderabad FC. This has been a forgettable season so far, but Khalid Jamil’s boys will look to give their 100% and earn maximum points when they take the field for the remaining five matches.

Their next is against Kerala Blasters FC at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco, Goa on Friday evening. Kerala Blasters are having a brilliant run and currently sit comfortably at 3rd place with 20 points from 12 matches. However, they had to suffer a 0-1 defeat in their last match against Bengaluru FC. Today’s match will start at 7:30 PM IST. It will be telecast live on the Star Sports Network, Disney+ Hotstar and Jio TV.

The Highlanders have failed to convert many of their chances this season and it becomes an even bigger cause of worry when they face Kerala Blasters as they are known for their rock-solid defence. Kerala Blasters have conceded the least number of goals so far, just 11 in their 12 matches. Deshorn Brown’s availability is however a big boost for NEUFC.

NEUFC Head coach Khalid Jamil is happy that all players are available. Ahead of the match, he spoke about the opposition and said, “Talking about Kerala Blasters FC, they are definitely a good team, they also have good players, who are doing well this season. And talking about them we played them a long time back, when the situation was different. But one good point is we have all the players with us now. So we should do good and we are ready for this match.”

He also shared his thoughts about the team’s approach and said, “Every match we try our best to give 100%. The result is not in our hands. So let’s hope we get the maximum points in these five matches.”
