The Indian Women’s Senior team played a friendly match against the Swedish Djurgården Football Team on Saturday afternoon. The match was held in Stockholm Stadium, Sweden, and commenced at 6:30 PM IST. Djurgården IF beat India 1-0 and the match was live-streamed on the official Facebook page of AIFF.
The Indian Women’s Team has been playing a series of friendly matches against international teams such as Sweden’s Hammarby IF (2-3), Chinese Taipei (1-0), Bahrain (5-0), Tunisia (0-1), and UAE (4-1).
These international matches are in preparation for India’s participation in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup next year. The quadrennial football competition will be held in India from January 20 to February 6, 2022.
The Indian team is back to their training camp in Jamshedpur and will be locally training for the Asian Cup for the rest of this winter.
