The Senior Indian Women’s Team played a friendly match against Sweden’s Hammarby IF last night. The match was held at 10:30 PM IST at the Hammarby IP Stadium in Stockholm, Sweden, and was streamed live on Facebook by the official account of AIFF.

While India initially led the match with a 2-1, the Swedish team eventually evened the score to 2-2 before scoring their third goal and winning the game.

Sweden’s goals were scored by Amanda Sundstrom while Indumathi and Manisa Panna scored the two goals for India.

The Starting XI for India was: Chauhan, Chhibber, Devi, Panna, Sanju, Basfore, Kathiresan, Tamang, Guguloth, Kalyan, Xaxa.

The Starting XI for Sweden was: Gynning, S Holmberg, Wangerheim, Karlsson, Pedersen, Gibson, Jansson, Thörnqvist, Sundström, Lind, Jakobsson.

The Indian team has been playing a series of friendly matches (including against Chinese Taipei, Tunisia, Bahrain and UAE) in preparation for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup next year. The major football event will be hosted in India from January 20 to February 6, 2022.

India will next be playing against Sweden’s Djurgarden IF team on Saturday. The Indian Team is coached by Thomas Dennerby, and has been joined by fitness coach Jane Törnqvist for the Sweden matches.
