On the second last day of Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2021, Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by six wickets in Dubai on Thursday. But that wasn’t enough as Kolkata Knight Riders’ 86-run win strengthened their chances of securing final Playoff berth.
Although Punjab Kings defeated CSK, they needed other results to go their way. With KKR’s victory over Rajasthan Royals for an 85 – lowest of this year’s IPL, there was no room left for the team to make it to the Playoffs.

Orange cap
KL Rahul’s 98 not out saw the PBKS skipper strengthen his position at the top of the list, and although Shikhar Dhawan remains in contention, the left-handed batsmen needs at least 126-runs to displace Rahul and make it to the top of the IPL 2021 list.
Purple Cap
With Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan and Jasprit Bumrah at top three, there may not be a lot of changes in the IPL 2021 Purple Cap list. However, PBKS’s Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh entered the top five to be placed at fourth and fifth respectively.
