IPL 2020 fixed?
A deleted tweet from the Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians has sparked controversy over the internet as fans on Twitter have come up with certain fixing allegations against the entire tournament.
Within a few minutes into their match against the Delhi Capitals on Sunday, the Mumbai Indians posted a tweet stating the final score of the Delhi Capitals at end of their first innings, and surprisingly for many, the Delhi Capitals managed to post an inch perfect similar score at the end of their innings.
The Mumbai Indians’ tweet stated that the DC will be at 163/5 after 19.5 overs of their innings, and surprisingly, Delhi Capitals finished at 162/4 after their 20 overs.
Making things even more fishy, the tweet from Mumbai Indians is nowhere to be found on the internet now. However, fans were smart enough to take screenshots and share it online, which sparked controversy after the game, which the Mumbai Indians won by five wickets.
The IPL governing council and the BCCI are yet to comment anything on it.
However, one possible explanation for the Mumbai Indians regarding their tweet could be that, at the time of their tweet, the Rajasthan Royals were 163/5 after 19.5 overs in the first match of the day, but still question will remain why was the tweet deleted, whereas it could have been just edited.
