Former India, skipper MS Dhoni, added another feather to his cap as he walked out to play the match number 15 of the ongoing Indian Premier League on Friday. The Chennai Super Kings skipper became the most capped player in the Indian Premier League.
MS Dhoni, who made a record with 194 appearances, surpassed his former CSK and India teammate Suresh Raina who earlier held the record with 194 appearances in the IPL.
Right after MS Dhoni walked out for the toss against, Suresh Raina took to Twitter to congratulate his friend and former India captain MS Dhoni on this achievement.
“Congratulations Mahi bhai (@msdhoni) at becoming the most capped IPL player. Happiest that my record is being broken by you. All the best for the game today and am sure @ChennaiIPL will win this season’s @IPL” the former India southpaw tweeted.
MS Dhoni(194) and Suresh Raina(193) are closely followed by Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma with 192 appearances. The next in the list are KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik with 185 appearances followed by India and RCB skipper Virat Kohli with 180 appearances in the IPL.
MS Dhoni is on the verge of completing a few more milestones. He is just one six away from 300 T20 sixes and becoming the third Indian batsman to do so. Ahead of Dhoni in this feat is Suresh Raina with 311 sixes and Rohit Sharma with 368 sixes.
