England’s second T20I victory hero Jos Buttler will miss the final Vitality T20I against Australia on Thursday, for family reasons. Buttler, who smashed a match-winning 77 not out in the second match of England's series against Australia on Sunday, left the biosecure bubble at the Rose Bowl following the game.

Buttler is expected to return to the England camp when they move up to Manchester ahead of the first ODI against Australia. This will be subject to Buttler’s Covid-19 testing.

The England Cricket Board confirmed the same on their official Twitter page.

Jos Buttler was adjudged the Player of the Match in the second T20I against Australia for his brilliant unbeaten 77, which powered England to victory on Sunday, and take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three match T20I series.

The absence of Buttler, may be a great opportunity for Tom Banton at the top of the order, who has so far been serving an unfamiliar No. 4 role n the series and with just 10 runs in two innings.

Skipper Morgan’s availability is another concern for the English team after he hurt the ring finger on his right hand in the field on Sunday. It is the same finger Morgan had fractured playing for Middlesex in 2018.

Although Morgan was fit to bat with the finger strapped up , but England having already won the series, the team management might take the view that it is not worth risking him for the third and final T20.

England will move up to Manchester for the first ODI against Australia on Friday.
