England sealed the three match T20I series 2-0 against the Aussies, led by the in-form Jos Buttler, who struck a fluent unbeaten 77, at Southampton, on Sunday.

Deciding to bat first after winning the toss, the Aussies had a disastrous start as they were reduced to 3/2 in the second over, with Warner (0) and Carey (2) falling early followed by skipper Smith getting run out for just 10 runs in the 5th over, courtesy a brilliant direct hit from his English counterpart, Morgan.

Aaron Finch (40) and Marcus Stoinis (35) steadied the ship for Australia in the middle overs, but were dismissed in quick succession just as they were looking to accelerate. Glenn Maxwell scored a quickfire 26 of 18, but was dismissed in the 19th over, before he could finish off the innings strongly. The Australian innings never really took off after the initial setback, and eventually they managed a below par total of 157/7 at the end of their 20 overs.

England, coming out to chase a rather modest total, lost their opener Bairstow(9) pretty early, but the two in-form batsman for England, Jos Buttler(77*) and Dawid Malan(42) powered England’s chase with a 87-run partnership.

England found themselves in a spot of bother as they lost three quick wickets, including Malan, in a span of 22 balls, but Buttler and Moeen Ali smashed 18 runs off Zampa’s 19th over to see England home.

Player of the match, Jos Buttler, started surprisingly slow in the run chase, reaching the halfway mark on just 25 from 24 balls, but he just took off in the back half of the innings, with perfection, and eventually saw the English chase through to the end, sealing the game with seven balls to spare with a monstrous straight six off Zampa.

England have now taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 against Australia in the three match T20I series.
