NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover has completed one year of landing on the red planet and you can join the rover live on its landing anniversary.

The programme will be live-streamed on NASA’s official website at 1 PM PT (02:30 AM IST) on Friday, February 18, 2022.

Over this past year, the Martian has made several discoveries, collected rock samples, discovered water on the planet, gave us a tour of the Jezero crater and also sent us pictures and selfies from the red planet.

On its mission to seek signs of ancient life and collect samples of rock and regolith (broken rock and soil) for a possible return to Earth, the rover which landed on the planet on February 18, 2021, has also covered more land on Mars than anyone else.

“I’ve been on Mars for an Earth year, and I’m learning so much about this planet. Watch the live event on my landing anniversary and ask members of my team questions about our mission,” wrote the tech-savvy rover on its Twitter.

Earlier in the day, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory also sent Twitterati an invite in a tweet that said, “It’s a special time for @NASAPersevere! Join us on Fev. 18 to celebrate the 1-year Mars landing anniversary. We” be live with experts who helped make it all happen & they’ll share insight on the rover’s year of exploration.”
