GANGTOK: Comedian Bkey Agarwal from Mangan, North Sikkim, finished second in Nepal’s Comedy Champion season 2 finale concluded on Saturday. Agarwal, a YouTube content creator, short-film maker, and stand up comedian, has brought the comedy scene in Sikkim to its prominence with his stand up comedy acts.

Bkey, who is a co-founder of Comedy group Hasais Katle in Sikkim took stand up comedy to Sikkim’s audience through many of his performances.

Bkey received a lot of support from Sikkim and Darjeeling Hills and many claim him to already be a winner. His comedy club group Hasais Katle shared, “His performance was liked and loved by people not just from Sikkim but from the entire Nepali-speaking diaspora. He utilised the opportunity he got on that stage fully, trying various new kinds of formats and themes, which was never tried before in the Nepali comedy scene. Though he couldn’t win the title, he is already a winner for many of us, and he has made Sikkim proud. Bkey is an example that Sikkim is a home of many talents and artists. We hope Bkey keeps entertaining us with his unique style of comedy.”

Hasais Katle has been giving a platform to local aspiring comedians, and we hope that we bring more talents like Bkey in future, shared the group over social media on Sunday.

The group expressed gratitude to “everyone who supported Bkey in this journey, whose votes and contributions helped him reach the second position. We would also like to thank Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), who supported Bkey wholeheartedly and encouraged him.”

The Bkey support forum was actively involved in promoting Bkey to generate more votes.
