Gangtok: Sikkim reported 137 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally in the Himalayan state to 29,477, a health department bulletin said on Tuesday.

West Sikkim district registered 65 new cases followed by East Sikkim (57), South Sikkim (14) and North Sikkim district (1), it said.

Sikkim’s COVID-19 positivity rate is 15 per cent and the recovery rate is 93.4 per cent, the bulletin said.

The Himalayan state now has 1,548 new COVID-19 cases, while 27,281 patients have recovered from the disease so far.

The COVID-19 death toll in the state remained at 367 as no new fatality due to the virus was reported in the last 24 hours, it said, adding that so far 281 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other states.

Sikkim has so far tested 2,25,984 samples for COVID-19, including 907 samples in the last 24 hours, it added.
