Arunachal Pradesh reports 71 COVID-19 cases

Gangtok: Sikkim recorded six COVID 19 deaths on May 11, taking the month’s tally to 36. Both the STNM Hospital and Central Referral Hospital, with both COVID hospitals recording three fatalities each.

After being declared as COVID hospital 16 days ago, CRH now accounts for 15 COVID deaths, while STNM has recorded 146 deaths so far. The COVID fatality tally in the state has now reached 183.

The recovery tally saw an improvement with 93 new recoveries on Wednesday, 899 recoveries have been recorded so far this month. However, 2440 COVID 19 cases have been recorded this month.

227 new COVID 19 cases were recorded on May 12, taking the active cases tally to 2866. With 209 patients admitted to the COVID hospitals. 141 of them are in STNM, 54 in CRH and 14 in Mangan District Hospital. Nineteen new admissions were made in STNM with eight patients in ICU, while 8 were new patients and nine patients were in ICU at CRH.

In 5 COVID care centres, 36 patients are admitted, while four paid quarantines account for 25 patients admitted. Total 2,457 COVID positive patients are currently in home isolation, with 1,772 in East Sikkim alone.

Among the 227 new cases, East Sikkim accounted for 190 cases taking the district tally to 7,749 cases. 19 cases were recorded in South Sikkim taking the district tally to 1593. 14 new cases were recorded in West Sikkim taking the tally to 662. North Sikkim recorded 4 new cases taking the district tally to 180 cases.

730 tests were conducted in the State, with 500 being RTPCR resulting in 157 testing positive. 225 RAT tests resulted in 67 testing positive. While 3 out of 5 tested positive in cbnat-truenat.
