Gangtok: Sikkim on Sunday recorded 230 new COVID-19 cases taking the state’s tally to 8,441.

With this, the total number of active cases has gone up to 1,808, of which 119 are admitted in hospitals. In the last 24 hours, 19 new COVID-19 patients were admitted in Central Referral Hospital (CRH) and STNM Hospital.

Another fatality was reported from CRH, taking the COVID-19 death tally in the state to 149.

East Sikkim recorded 143 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking the district’s tally to 6,384. South Sikkim recorded 58 new cases taking the district’s tally to 1,269.

Similarly, West Sikkim recorded 26 new cases taking the district’s COVID-19 tally to 488. North Sikkim recorded three new cases taking the district’s tally to 120 so far.

Up to 799 tests were conducted of which 628 RT-PCR tests resulted in 182 testing positive. As many as 153 RATs were conducted with 40 testing positive. Eighteen tests were conducted on TrueNAT, of which eight tested positive for novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, 68 new recoveries were recorded in the day.
