Gangtok: Sikkim recorded 121 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the state tally as of April 24. There are 798 active cases in the state at present. In contrast, there were only 47 active cases till the end of March. The state has recorded 923 cases in the past 21 days.

East Sikkim recorded 97 new cases. In April, the district has recorded 691 COVID-19 infections. Most of the new cases are from Gangtok.

West Sikkim recorded ten new cases, taking the district tally to 393 cases. North Sikkim had no new case after recording 33 cases in the past 16 days. The district has recorded 88 cases so far.

South Sikkim recorded 14 new cases, taking the district tally to 1,097 so far. 105 cases have been recorded in the past 19 days.

Only 14 new recoveries were recorded, with 6069 cumulative recoveries so far in the state.

On April 24, 566 tests were conducted in the state with 434 being RT PCR, where 92 tested positive. 128 Rapid Antigen Tests were conducted with 25 of them testing positive. Four TRUENAT-CBNAT tests were done; all four tested positive.
