Gangtok: Hailstorm and high winds wreaked havoc in various parts of Sikkim following a storm on Friday evening.

More than 20 trees fell in Namcheybong under Pakyong subdivision following a strong rainfall and hailstorm at around 6 pm blocking the road. With collective public effort, the road was cleared and the NDRF team removed the fallen trees.

According to reports, standing crops of maize, buckwheat and others in East district villages were destroyed.
