Gangtok: Situated in Manan Kendra, Sikkim Central Library is the only government-run library in Gangtok. It has subsidiary library centres in different districts, but none as big as the one in the Capital. But there is one more thing which makes this library extra special.

Established back in the 1960s under the Chogyal Regime, the library was previously in the Community Hall building till the early 2000s. But with the construction of Manan Kendra, the library as well as the Community Hall.
For a brief period, the library functioned from the basement of White Hall, but since 2011, the library has been functioning inside the Manan Kendra premises, returning to its original site.
