If you happen to be in Vajra area in state capital Gangtok, you may see several canines clad in blue & green camouflage jackets. Know the story behind it
Gangtok: Not all canines have the same luxury like their pet counterparts sitting beside their owners near heaters and wrapped in warm clothes in very cold weather conditions in places like Gangtok in Sikkim.
In fact, many street dogs of Gangtok are known to die every year due to freezing cold.
In a bid to save some of these stray dogs, a youth from Vajra in Gangtok, Jigme Dorjee Ladakhi, has pledged to provide warmth to the street dogs of Gangtok this winter season.
On Monday, Ladakhi distributed jackets to some street dogs outside Vajra Cinema Hall. The animal lover has rescued many animals during disasters in Sikkim.
So, if you happen to be around Vajra area and see a street dog or two clad in blue and green camouflage jackets, you know whom to thank for the noble act.
