Gangtok: Sikkim chief minister PS Golay has donated Rs 25 lakh to the Bihar Chief Minister’s Relief.
On behalf of the state government, Bikash Basnett, confidential secretary to Sikkim CM, met Bihar deputy CM Sushil Modi to lend a helping hand for the flood victims of the state.
Principal secretary to CM Chanchal Kumar accepted the cheque on behalf of CM Nitish Kumar as the latter reportedly out on tour to survey the flood-affected areas.
Deputy CM Modi expressed his gratitude to CM Golay and the people of Sikkim over phone for the support to Bihar during this time of crisis and also wished him the best for the upcoming by-elections.
Golay also extended all his support to the state and expressed his condolences to the families who lost their lives in the flood.
Bihar has been witnessing a flood-like situation for the past few days. The administration has been consistently engaged in evacuating residents to safer places.
