The 28-yr-old son of new CM PS Golay became the youngest member of the legislative assembly when he won Soreng-Chakung seat in the just-declared election results
Gangtok: "People gave me immense love and support. The result itself proves how much the public supported me and the party," said Aditya Golay, who became the youngest MLA of the new legislative assembly by winning the Soreng-Chakung constituency in West Sikkim.
While speaking to EastMojo, Aditya said the election process was comfortable and smooth for him despite being a debutant.
Aditya, 28, is the son of PS Golay, who was sworn in as the new CM of Sikkim on Monday. Aditya looks up to his father, especially while taking important decisions at work, he said.
Expressing his gratitude, Aditya thanked the people of Soreng-Chakung for standing by him. “We have come to power because of the public mandate this time. I would like to assure the people that we will try our best to fulfill all the promises made during the election campaign and make this process an easy one," added Aditya, an English graduate from Hindu College in New Delhi.
Aditya also appealed the public to support the party and patiently wait for them to function as he said the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) will prove their worth through their work.
Being a young leader, Aditya appealed the youths to join active politics. “I would like to thank the youths for supporting us and appeal them to continue with their support as we need them for Sikkim’s bright future," said Aditya, adding that the party has many policies and programmes for the youths.
