OnePlus released a new film titled, ‘Stop at Nothing’, emphasizing the need to take the time to disconnect while reiterating use of technology and digital platforms for what they were originally intended – platforms to create, connect and collaborate. Starring acclaimed actor Kalki Koechlin, the video advocates the cause of digital health in our overactive online lives.
Narrated through spoken-word poetry written by Kalki Koechlin, the music video’s impact shines through because of its visual impact and seamless transitions – all of which have been shot using OnePlus’ latest smartphone, the OnePlus 8T 5G.
Commenting on the campaign film, Siddhant Narayan, Head of Marketing – India, OnePlus said, “We live in a time where our smartphones have become our one-stop destination for everything from work and news updates to entertainment and connecting with loved ones. As a technology brand, we understand how important it is to perceive our devices as an extension of the self, for helping us boost creativity and productivity and not something that we become dependent on. With this film, we hope to make people cognizant of using technology for the betterment of ourselves, emphasizing the importance of disconnecting from time to time.”
In addition to driving awareness, OnePlus has also created software innovations to promote digital consciousness such as Zen Mode that focuses on taking a quick break from your smartphone every day and Work-life Balance that allows you to toggle between Work Mode and Life Mode to control the notifications you see on your device, helping separate the activities on your device to avoid distractions.
Sharing her experience, Koechlin says, “As we all continued to stay indoors since March, it has completely changed the way we consume content. Personally, I was using various online platforms for a range of activities including cooking, exercising, reading, and discovering new interests. Additionally, being a new mother, it was also important for me to strike a balance between work and keeping myself entertained, which led to a significant increase in my daily screen time. While I was constantly switching between apps and spending a lot of time across social channels, I realized the importance of staying away from the noise and negativity on the internet and using the digital space to enhance creativity and productivity.”
“The OnePlus ‘Stop at Nothing’ campaign gave me the perfect opportunity to champion this thought and talk about digital wellbeing and the importance of using technology in a healthy manner. Shot entirely on the OnePlus device, the campaign filming felt very authentic and simple to me. For someone who has always shot with heavy equipment and big cameras, I truly enjoyed every step of this fun journey, exploring the versatility the OnePlus camera had to offer. Looking back at the process and now the final content, I am happy that I could be a part of such a relatable campaign, especially in the current scenario,” she added.
Some of the top video features of the OnePlus 8T 5G that caught our eye are:
Low Light Clarity
Almost the entire ‘Stop At Nothing’ video is shot indoors with minimal external lighting. This necessitates clarity and eliminating noise that is typical of low-light photos and videos. However, looking at the video, one would be hard-pressed to imagine that it was all shot on a mobile phone.
With OnePlus 8T 5G’s improved Nightscape Mode, the camera algorithm takes into account low-light conditions and automatically adjusts the frame by adding vivid colours and eliminating noise so you can shoot with even the bare minimum illumination confidently.
The OnePlus 8T 5G’s sensors are smart enough to detect the subject under any lighting conditions. The camera’s new AI algorithm automatically detects the lighting condition and stacks multiple photos to capture a brighter and more detailed picture.
The camera system easily adjusts for unwanted camera shakes and unintentional camera panning, allowing you to leave the mechanics behind so you can focus on getting the best shots all the time. In short, the stabilisation works as an external gimble by stabilising your video each time you shoot something with it. This feature works even in low-light conditions, so you don’t have to worry about using a ton of extra equipment and lighting to brighten your shot.
The quad-camera setup on the OnePlus 8T 5G has been further optimised to deliver a stunning 123-degree ultrawide lens that can be used to shoot creative shots that were considered out of scope for smartphone cameras. From landscape shots that capture more detail than before to architectural marvels that need a wider frame or simply bringing in the entire family into a single frame, the Ultrawide Video does it all.
