“We have observed that job search seems like a near-impossible task during the unprecedented times of the coronavirus pandemic. The shift to remote working, e-commerce and automation has also led to more than 25 per cent of workers needing to switch occupations due to the lack of the required skills. But, now, as the economy is gradually opening up with many companies starting hiring, the job scenario is also going through a transition. Therefore, job fairs like these are fantastic opportunities for job seekers to connect with companies and comprehend their requirements. It will also help job seekers to streamline their search and provide them with a convenient way to learn about hiring businesses and apply for relevant positions.” said Dr NC Talukdar, Vice-Chancellor, Assam down town University.

“Similarly, the HR conclave will allow us to build upon these industry connections every year and make the network stronger. The ultimate goal of such conclaves is to get students industry and market-ready,” added Dr Talukdar.

The Mega Job Fair at AdtU is also a win-win situation for the companies, which can get quick access to several candidates and complete their recruitment processes in one place. They don’t have to ponder over the arrangements as all these are taken care of by the university. The companies are also getting promoted across the state as all the event branding has their logos.
