Gangtok: Here’s calling all fitness lovers to share videos of their daily exercise routine and win some awesome goodies in return.
If pushups are your thing or you have complete faith in burpees, we want to see and share with the world. All you need to do is upload a two-minute video of yourself doing what you love doing the most – staying fit.
Brainchild of the Futsal Association of Sikkim (FAS) and Karma Paljor, Editor-in-Chief, East Mojo, ‘Fit for Life’ is aimed at bringing out the fit side of people and showcasing it to inspire hundreds of others to do the same.
The Futsal Association of Sikkim was formed in 2017 and has successfully sent three Futsal teams for national tournaments under the Futsal Association of India. The three tournaments were held in Goa, Cochin, and Bengaluru.
‘Fit for Life’ is sponsored by Sikkim government’s Sports and Youth Affairs Department, powered by EastMojo across Northeast India, with nutrition partner Steadfast Nutrition and Decathlon as its sports partner.
The event was informally launched on September 10 and the last date of accepting entries is October 2. So far 300 entries have been received by EastMojo.
Participants can register on eastmojo.com/Fitforlife on EastMojo’s website. All entries must tag EastMojo and Futsal Association of Sikkim and use the hashtag #Fitforlife. Once registered, the judging will be carried out based on likes, subscription and comments.
The competition will be judged by a technical advisor for FAS, one from the media fraternity and the people from the Northeast to decide the winners.
The Sikkim government has welcomed the initiative as a noble idea and, being the title sponsors for the event, the sports department has also been very supportive of the endeavour.
From 2018-19, five players from the FAS have been selected to the Indian national team, three of whom represented India in the Futsal World Cup in Colombia in 2019. Of the 13 goals scored by the country, 11 were scored by the players from Sikkim, garnering respect from their counterparts at the national level.
