Strengthening of the south-westerly monsoon winds will bring rainfall over parts of Northeast and adjoining East India this week, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, along with isolated heavy showers have been forecast over Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, West Bengal and Sikkim in the next 4-5 days.

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Assam, Meghalaya during the next 5 days; over Tripura, Mizoram on June 22 and 23, and on Arunachal Pradesh on June 25.
