Kohima: The Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF) called off its agitation on Friday, a day after the state government announced its decision to heed the demands put forth by the federation regarding the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB).

On Thursday, ENSF members staged a peaceful agitation outside the Civil Secretariat in Kohima, demanding inclusion of exempted departments and posts under the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB).

The ENSF had demanded that the Group C posts, which are exempt from the purview of the NSSB, should be brought under the board for preliminary and written exam. Similarly, the ENSF wants the preliminary and written exam for recruitment to the post of Constable/Fireman Constable/Warder/Female Warder in the Police, Prisons, Nagaland Lokayukta, NPTO, HG/CD and Department of Fire and Emergency Services (Sister Departments) Excise and Forest Guards in the EF&CC also to be conducted by the NSSB.

The Federation also thanked the Neiphiu Rio-led government for considering the legitimate demand placed by the ENSF. Meanwhile, it also appealed to the Nagaland government to expedite the process in making NSSB operational at the earliest.
