GuwahatiGroww, India’s fastest growing investment platform on Thursday concluded its on-ground event Ab India Karega Invest in Guwahati, which witnessed strong participation among retail investors in the city.

A financial education initiative, Ab India Karega Invest aims to simplify investments for citizens across the country in a simple, secure and accessible manner. 

Started in 2020, Ab India Karega Invest is Groww’s offline event that introduces people to the investment world, educates them about different investment options and resolves their queries.

Harsh Jain, co-founder and COO of Groww, said, “Guwahati has witnessed a steady rise in investor population in recent years. Further, the ease of access to financial instruments has enabled people to join the investment bandwagon and use different asset classes to grow their wealth.”

“We are certain that Ab India Karega Invest will help increase investor population in northeast India,” Jain said.

Interestingly, Groww has seen heightened interest for investing among young working professionals in Guwahati.

Jain said 29% of investors in Guwahati on Groww’s platform are in the age group of 25 – 29 years, while 26% are in the age group of 18-24 and 33% of investors are between the ages of 30-39.

Groww’s data also highlighted that 83% investors in Guwahati are men, while a growing 17% are women.

The data further reveals that investors in Guwahati prefer traditional asset classes, with stocks being the most preferred asset class at 72.36%, followed by mutual funds at 59.75%.

Founded in 2016, Groww currently has over 20 million users on its platform.
