Basar: Fulfilling the commitment of their late father, local legislator Gokar Basar along with his siblings Gomar Basar, Gogam Basar, Goli Basar and Goto Basar recently donated their ancestral land at Gori-I village to the dwellers of the hamlet free of cost and without any conditions.

The donated land at Gori-I village under Basar circle in Leparada district includes a settlement area (almost 50 percent of the entire village), granaries and a playground.

Officials said Late K Migo Basar, who was renowned for his kindness and philanthropic activities, always maintained a cordial relationship and close association with the elders and people of Gori-I village.

His relationship with people of the village was so close that the villagers too treated him as their big brother. Hence, maintaining the relationship, the five brothers donated the land owned by them to the villagers, officials said.

The historic occasion was witnessed by Basar extra assistant commissioner Gamjar Doke, ZPMs Nyato Riba, Chogbi Riba, Paktum Lombi, Miken Bssar, retired government officials Hengo Basar and Karyom Riram and others panchayat and public leaders of the area.

The people of Gori-I village have extended their appreciation to MLA Basar and his brothers for their philanthropic outlook.
