Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has bagged a total of 9 medals including 2 gold in the 20th Junior National Wushu Championships, held at Jalandhar, Punjab, from October 20 to 25.
Participating in the Jianshu and Spear event, Yorna Rosni won two gold medals for the state, while Taug Ama and Chera Loku won a silver each in the 60kg Sanda and Taijijian events respectively.
Yorna Rosni also managed to bring home 2 bronze medals, as she stood third in the Changquan and Dual events of the championships.
Meanwhile, Dani Nuri won 2 bronze medals in the Taijiquan and dual events, while Anjuru Melo won the 5th bronze medal for the state in the Taijiquan event.
The Arunachal Wushu team was led by Techi Juna (Coach Sanda), Likha Tadh (manager Sanda), Soni Beyong (coach Taolu), Tai Kaya (manager Taolu) and Bamang Ampa (competition judge).
The players were felicitated by the All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association president Toko Teki and other members of the organization on Friday.
