Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker P D Sona on Thursday released a promotional video of ‘Mechuka Adventure Park’ from his office here. Tourism Ninister Nakap Nalo was also present.
The first-of-its-kind in the northeast region, the upcoming adventure park which promises to be a perfect destination for adventure enthusiasts is being managed by a group of local youths from the state under the aegis of Far-East Tourism Development Pvt. Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker lauded the youngsters who are managing “such a big project without government help” and assured to extend all possible help from his side being their local representative.
He hoped that the park would attract more tourists, especially adventure lovers in the pristine Mechuka Valley.
Minister Nalo also praised the management of the tourism company for their commendable work and assured all help, while Tourism Director Abu Tayeng suggested the management come up with more interesting activities exclusive to Mechuka.
Referring to the longest zipline of northeast that has been set up at Mechuka, Tayeng said there should be more such reasons for the people to visit the region. The zipline between Singbir village and Menchukha Adventure Camp is around 800 meters long.
Bengia Seeker, the managing director of Far-East Tourism Development Pvt. Ltd, said the work at the park which was halted due to the pandemic has finally been completed and the park is ready to be inaugurated in November.
Adventure activities like white river rafting, kayaking, quad biking, MTB, paragliding, rappelling, etc., are already operational, he said, while adding that they are also exploring the possibility of including bungee jumping in the list of adventure activities.
Advisor to tourism minister Laisam Simai and secretary tourism Sadhana Deori were also present on the occasion.
