Trapa Choudhury, an 8-year-old girl from Guwahati has made it to the ‘India Book of Records’ for being awarded with 145 certificates for participating in various online and offline state, national and international level competitions.  

Daughter of Dr. Manoshi Das, Anthropologist and Dr. Jayanta Choudhury, Associate Professor, NIRDPR-NERC, Guwahati, Trapa has been bringing laurels to her family since she was 4 years old.

The child prodigy has taken part in Drawing and Painting, Craft Making, Poem Writing, Story, Abacus, Chess, Dancing, Singing, Recitation, Olympiads as well as a Fashion Show, in different languages, in just a period of 4 years between 2017 and 2021.

“Trapa has been participating in extra curricular activities since she was 2 years old but we started collecting her certificates since she was 4,” said Jayanta Choudhury, Trapa’s father.

“We are originally from West Bengal but she (Trapa) was born in Tripura, where we were posted since 2002. We moved to Guwahati in 2019,” he added.

India Book of Records is affiliated to Asia Book of Records and follows the Asian Protocol of Records (APRs), as per the consensus arrived at the meeting of the Chief Editors of National Record Books, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Trapa is multilingual and multicultural, which has helped her take up interest in various forms of art and cultural creation. The whizz-kid can speak, read and write in 5 different languages, namely, Bengali, Hindi, English, Assamese and Sanskrit. 

She has also been conferred the ‘Global Child Peace Ambassador’ by Global Peace Let’s Talk (a London, UK based International NGO) to spread Peace among the Children across the Globe and was selected to participate in the online Global Kids Peace Builder Workshop conducted by Global Peace Institute, London

In addition to these achievements, she was recently awarded ‘Child Ambassador of SDG’ by Vasundhara Blessing Foundation, Noida, UP
