Kohima: Awesie Kajiri and Nuvezolu Khusoh were crowned as the winners of the first edition of the Mr & Ms Nagaland Mega Model Hunt during a glittering ceremony at the Regional Centre of Excellence in Arts and Music (RCEMPA) at Jotsoma on Saturday.
Nagaland Mega Entertainment (NME) organised the contest. Samuel Achy Phom, president, NME, said the mega model hunt aims to promote the talented Naga models by giving them a platform to go beyond the state. This, he said, will boost the ambitions of the state’s models.
During the finale, Khusoh was also adjusted with the subtitle category of Miss Congeniality, while Kajiri bagged the title for Mr Perfect 10.
The first and second runners-up for Miss model Hunt category was bagged by Kereirovinuo Vizo and Mengubinuo Domeh respectively.
While in the Mr Model Hunt category, Y Chingong was declared the runners up followed by Swuduveyi Naroh as the second runners up.
The winners get a direct entry into Mr and Miss India Globe and Northeast India.
In the other subtitle category, Mr Best Ethnic wear was bagged by Vikepesie Terhuja, Mr Physic going to Atsungba Sangtam, and Mr Congeniality to Aseto Zao.
Miss Best Ethnic wear was adjudged to Akumla Jamir, Miss Body Beautiful to Moroni Moko, Miss Perfect 10 to Keneirovinuo Vizo.
A total of 21 participants, including both men and women, took the stage on the finale after several rounds.
Thereafter, the top seven reached the final round, based on the answers during the interview round by the panel to declare the winners.
The jury members included fashion designer Theja Sekhose, former Miss Northeast and Miss Mokokchung Tiarenla, and art and drama educator Cynthia Kolakhe. Former Mr International India Opang Jamir choreographed and directed the show.
Kekhriezhazo Solo, entrepreneur and proprietor of Imperial Coaching Centre, graced the occasion as a special guest.
