Barbara Pompili, Minister for the Ecological Transition (MTE), France visited Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, Assam on Sunday

Guwahati: Barbara Pompili, Minister for the Ecological Transition (MTE), France, who is in India on a five-day visit to deepen Indo-French ties on sustainable development, visited Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, Assam on Sunday.

She was accompanied by Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to India, Virginie Corteval, Consul General, and Bruno Bosle, Country Director, AFD India.

The entourage visited the Kohora and Bagori Range area of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. During the trip, they also visited Panbari village and Kaziranga Rescue Centre.

She was accompanied by Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to India, Virginie Corteval, Consul General, and Bruno Bosle, Country Director, AFD India.

Minister Pompili will visit IIT-Guwahati during her visit to the state. The French Development Agency has been working with the State since 2012.

They have been providing technical and financial assistance to Assam Project on Forest and Biodiversity Conservation (APFBC) to support Assam’s sustainable and participatory management of forests, biodiversity conservation efforts, and the creation of alternate livelihoods for forest-dependent communities.
