Assam Rifles troops along with the elderly man

Guwahati: In a heart-touching gesture, Assam Rifles gifted a wheelchair to a 110-year-old man in a remote Nagaland village.

As a part of reaching out to local communities, Assam Rifles troops visited locals of a remote border village on Wangti region and enquired about their well being on January 19. It also set up a medical camp for the villagers.

The official Twitter handle of Assam Rifles tweeted, “#AssamRifles in Nagaland reached out to the locals of remote border village of Wangti region in Mon district on 19 Jan to enquire about their wellbeing. Troops also presented wheel chair to a 110 years old senior citizen of the village.”

Assam Rifles has been holding such camps across the northeast, from conducting health checkup camps to distributing essential items and organising awareness drive against drug, the troops are reaching to the community to assure that they are there to help.
