Guwahati: Assam’s Health, Finance, and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday tweeted that he will stop giving COVID-19 updates via his handle on Friday.
According to the minister, the recovery rate of Assam has dropped below 0.5%, with daily life now back to pre-COVID-19 times, including the opening of schools and colleges.

“For 275+ days, I have shared COVID-19 updates. With a positivity rate of below 0.5%, & considering life is back to pre-COVID times including opening of schools and colleges, I shall discontinue the same from today except for special information. Now updates will come from @nhm_assam,” he tweeted.
In other information, to prepare the infrastructure and the medical staff, the dry run for the coronavirus vaccine will continue in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Sonapur Civil Hospital, and Khanapara State Dispensary, till actual vaccination takes place.
