Itanagar: Bringing laurels to Arunachal Pradesh, Mesom Singhi is first from the state to win a gold medal in the Senior National E-Kata Championship, which was organised by the Karate Association of India (KAI) on December 20- 21.

Singhi is also the first youth from Arunachal to win a gold medal in the kata championship in senior category. She was selected for the KAI Championship based on the 3rd State Olympic Games, which was conducted at Chimpu.

Congratulating Singhi, Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu tweeted, “Congratulations dear sister Mesom Singhi for winning the gold medal in the Senior National E-Kata Championship organised by the Karate Association of India (KAI).”


Earlier, Singhi had clinched the top spot in the 61 kg category (individual Kumite) in the 9th Commonwealth Karate Championship-2018, which was held in Durban, South Africa.
