Every year the famous Christmas carol ‘Jingle Bells’ is sung to ring in the holiday season. A desi rendition of Jingle Bells using Indian instruments is going viral on the internet and winning hearts all around.

The video is produced and shared on YouTube by the page ‘Santa Claus of India.’ The men in this video are seen playing Jingle Bells using Indian musical instruments in front of a Christmas tree wearing red shirts and a Santa cap to give the festive vibes. Musical instruments like the sitar, sarangi, and shehnai, are played to give Jingle Bells a desi twist. And to take it a notch up, a drummer is seen joining the team playing the dhol to jazz it up, giving festive feels all over the internet.

The video went viral for obvious reasons, as desi netizens were ecstatic to see this version of the Christmas carol. People also lauded the display of musical expertise that made this rendition beautiful to watch.

This video has been going viral across social media sites and even caught the attention of business tycoon Anand Mahindra on Twitter.

Bollywood star Salman Khan has also re-shared the video on Instagram, captioned, “Hindu, Muslim, Silkh, Isai… wishing all a merry xmas.”

This is not the only time any Christmas carol is given the ‘desi tadka.’ Around this time every year, popular Christmas jingles are sung with full Indian style and here are some desi renditions.
