One of the most anticipated games of this year, Cyberpunk 2077, has been a train-wreck on last-gen consoles since its launch last week. Issues include dropping frame rates, sub-par graphics, 1080p resolution instead of 4k, screen freezes, and more.
Even though next-gen console (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S) users have not reported any major issues, PC users have complained about a frustrating experience playing the game with several glitches and bugs.
It has also been reported that the game has been overloading Google’s servers and forcing Google Stadia users to run the game at 1080p instead of 4K. The glitch is present on both the Chromecast Ultra and PC via the Chrome browser.
Cyberpunk developers, CD Projekt Red, have issued a statement in which they apologized to players and promised to release frequent updates with fixes. The company also said that they will initiate refunds to players who don’t want to wait for the updates.
The game has garnered bad reviews all over the internet, managing to get a 4/10 rating by IGN, a 50% rating on Metacritic and an average of 3.3 stars on Google. However, the game stands at a 7/10 rating on Steam, which is higher than its average everywhere else.
